The regular season is winding down in girls high school basketball and last night Mountain View, Timberline and Boise all held serve in girls 5A SIC action.

Mountain View and Timberline both improved to 13-2 with wins. Mountain View beat Borah 52-33 and Timberline bested Rocky Mountain 70-40.

Meantime Boise won it's 12th game of the year improving to 12-3 beating Skyview 60-27.

If there is any physiological edge among the top three it may side with Mountain View who has beaten Timberline twice and gone 1-1 vs. Boise.

By the way, Boise 12-3 and Timberline 13-2 collide on the final day of the regular season January 28th.

The state tournament begins February 20th at the Ford Idaho Center and to be honest it's nearly impossible to predict anything except you'd expect all three to qualify for state and which of the three would be favored might well depend on the brackets!

Remember, teams like Eagle lurk in the shadow of the top three. The Lady Mustangs improved to 11-7 overall and 9-6 in league with a 64-21 win over Centennial Tuesday night.

Don't forget Meridian, the Warriors, who didn't play Tuesday, are 11-6 overall and 9-5 in SIC play and like Eagle, can't be overlooked on a given night.
