Six state high school basketball tournaments tip off across the Treasure Valley on Thursday involving 48 teams and more than 600 players.

5A action will be at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, 4A at Borah High school, 3A Meridian High, 2A at Capital High, 1A Division I at Vallivue and 1A Division II at Rocky Mountain High.

Sports radio 630 The Fan will feature a double header on Thursday with Boise vs. Rocky Mountain at 1p.m. followed by Borah vs. Madison at 3 p.m. These may well be the best first round matchups of any of the tournaments.

This year 5 of the 8 teams in 5A are from the Treasure Valley. Centennial plays Post Falls at 6:15 p.m. Thursday followed by Mountain View against Hillcrest.

630 The Fan will also air Fridays 5A semi final game at 6p.m. between the winners of the  Boise/Rocky Mtn. and Borah/Madison games. If either Centennial or Mountain View advance to the semi final game at 8 p.m. 630 The Fan will air that contest as well.
