Hoping to get up on the mountain this weekend? There's good news and bad news.

Which one were you hoping for first?  Let's start with the good news.

The rain we got in the valley on Tuesday and Thursday did produce some new snow in the mountain, so Bogus Basin will re-open after their first mid-season closure in the past four decades. The storms haven't produced as much snow as they were hoping for so it's possible that only the Pepsi Gold Rush Hill, Glad Runner Mountain Coaster Nordic trail and Coach chairlift will open.

That leads to the bad news.  With such limited snow fun available, Bogus Basin has decided to cancel their Treasure Valley Toyota Dealers FREE Ski Friday tomorrow.  Once conditions improve, they plan to reschedule the event. Once they pick the date, load up your  4Runner, Rav4, Sequoia, Camry or any other Toyota vehicle and drive up to Bogus.

There will be a Toyota rep at Bogus on the rescheduled date and they'll hand the Toyota driver a free lift pass.

FREE Ski Friday at Brundage Still On

Luckily, they're getting more snow up near McCall.  Brundage has a base depth of 31" so all 46 of their trails as well as 5/6 of their lifts are open. If you want to play hooky from work on January 19, the FREE Ski Friday at Brundage is still a go.

Season Pass Holders Get a Break

After last year's record breaking season, a lot of new people bought season passes for Bogus hoping for a second snowy winter in a year.  It's not a shock that they've been pretty disappointed so far but there is a hidden benefit to those season passes! Those who purchase them have access to the "Powder Alliance"  which offers 42 free ski days at 15 other mountains.  For more details click HERE!
