Boise State football coach Bryan Harsin held his weekly Thursday morning press conference and was asked about the availability of freshman quarterback Hank Bachmeier Saturday in Provo.

Bachmeier suffered a hip pointer in last weeks game against Hawaii, an injury that takes one to three weeks to heal defending on severity.

Harsin responded to the question saying "That remains to be seen, why would I give you that information right now?"

Harsin never denied Bachmeier would play Saturday but he didn't confirm anything either going on to say "If it's not season ending players come back they practice and prepare and they play in games."

Harsin earlier said the injury to Bachmeier wasn't season ending. Conventional wisdom however says Chase Cord will start at quarterback Saturday and even if Bachmeier is in uniform he won't be used unless absolutely necessary.

Remember, Boise State has a bye week after BYU and if using Cord and Jaylen Henderson at quarterback can get the Broncos a win in Provo, Bachmerier will have three full weeks to heal before Boise State begins a five game November schedule.

Boise State is favored by 6 and a half points in the 8:15pm kickoff, a homecoming game for BYU with an expected sellout crowd of better than 60,000.
