Boise State will be one of eight teams in the 2019 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic field. The Broncos will be joined by Ball State, Georgia Tech, Hawai'i, Houston, Portland, UTEP and Washington.

The tournament – which historically takes place from Dec. 22-25 – will be played at the Stan Sheriff Center on the campus of Hawai'i. The exact dates and times will be announced at a later date with all games set to broadcast on the ESPN Family of Networks.

The Broncos will be playing in the tournament for the second time, as they took second in 2013 after coming up just short against then-No. 14 Iowa State in the championship game, 70-66. Boise State took down Hawai'i (62-61) in the opening round and then knocked off South Carolina (80-54) in the semifinals to reach the title game.

Next year's Diamond Head Classic will be the sixth major early-season tournament in the last seven years for Boise State. In addition to the 2013 Diamond Head Classic, the Broncos participated in the 2015 Wooden Legacy, 2016 Charleston Classic, 2017 Puerto Rico Tip-Off at Myrtle Beach and most recently the 2018 Cayman Islands Classic.

Boise State has never faced Ball State or Georgia Tech. The Blue and Orange most recently took on Washington in the 2018 National Invitation Tournament, while also playing both Portland and UTEP last year in the 2017-18 season.

The team's only previous meeting against Houston came in 2014, while the latest matchup with Hawai'I was back in 2013 in the opening round of the same tournament.
