The Eagle High school girls basketball team has never won a state title but they are in the national spotlight as the 25th ranked team in the country according to USA-Today.

Eagle is now 20-0 on the season following their 73-49 win over Centennial and they've been ranked #1 in the state the entire season.

Head coach Cody Pickett, a former football star at Washington says his team is 10 deep and the scary part is there are only three seniors on the team.

In the past four years those seniors have posted an 84-16 record but have never won a state title.

This is not the first Eagle girls team to be nationally ranked, the 2016 Eagle girls softball team ended the year #1 in the Max Prep poll.

The Eagle basketball team earned the attention of the USA-Today national voters partly because of their 20-0 record but also because their average margin of victory this year is an impressive 27 points.

Coach Pickett says while it's great to be ranked #1 in the state and #25 nationally, the goal is to win a state title because that would be a real first!
