Despite sellout crowds and a second round frenzy of media attention, once the Idaho Steelheads were ousted from the Kelly Cup playoffs it's like the hockey season ended altogether!

The fact of the matter is the Colorado Eagles, who beat Idaho in four straight are facing a game 7 tonight against Ft. Wayne with a trip to the Kelly Cup Finals on the line.

Up 3-2 in the series Colorado hosted game 6 last night and lost 3-2. The Komets of Fort Wayne trailed twice but scored a pair of goals in the second period to force gave seven tonight also in Loveland.

The ice at Century Link Arena has long since been melted and gone is the excitement following the Steelheads unlikely 4-3 series win over Allen after having been down 3 games to none, only the second time in 30 years of ECHL action.

So, just a reminder that fans in Colorado have a game seven tonight, hockey very much alive in Loveland and the ECHL Kelly Cup Final will take the season into summer!

Just saying!
