According to it's record, 4-1 Hawaii is good this year. They've beaten Arizona and Oregon State of the Pac 12 and crushed Nevada in Reno 54-3.

That's the good Hawaii and  the team Boise State is expecting to see on the Blue Saturday night in a Homecoming Showdown..

Then there is the history between these two teams that make Hawaii football seem very typical. Boise State has won 12 of 15 games between the two including the last six in a row and a 6-0 record in Boise.

The last time the Broncos lost to the Rainbow Warriors was in 2007 in Honolulu 39-27.

That was then, this is now with Boise Statel favored by 11 and a half points and the Broncos are the ranked team at no.14.

Still, Hawaii comes to town with a run and shoot offense that averages better than 300 yards passing a game and they have a stable of receivers who are in sync with their quarterback and will no doubt test the Boise State secondary.

The biggest knock on Hawaii football is they play well at home but on the road, not so well. Boise State is 6-3 in games played on the Island to attest to theory but then Reno happened.

On a cold Nevada night where players could see their breath, not a good omen for Hawaii, the Rainbow Warriors put up 54 points and beat the Pack 54-3.

Hard to tell if Hawaii is that good or Nevada, who earlier this year shocked Purdue, is that bad. We'll know the answer by midnight Saturday after the Broncos and Warriors kickoff at 8:15pm on ESPN 2.
