Boise State true freshman quarterback Hank Bachmeier was today cleared to meet with the Boise media for the first time as a Bronco.

Bachmeier reported to the interview session directly from practice and was still wearing his pads to which I told him the Boise media wasn't as rough as reported.

None the less he kept the pads on!

Nobody asked a single question about Saturdays game with Wyoming, everything was about Bachmeier and why he chose Boise State, what he likes to do when not playing football, about his family and more.

What I learned is Bachmeier is a player who likes to have fun playing football. He feels that passion and excitement rubs off on his teammates and he's been that way since youth football.

Bachmeier says he is proud to be the Boise State quarterback, considers it an honor and love the city saying he can see himself living here for ever.

Bachmeier recalled a time when he was traveling with his family to his grand mothers house and they stopped at a hotel to watch Boise State play Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl. He still remembers the statute of liberty play and jumping up and down because Boise State won.

Bachmeiier says he can't recall what finally convinced him to come to Boise State except it always felt like the place to be.

Earlier this year several Boise State offensive lineman said Bachmeier was wacky, fun and goofy and that automatically endeared him to the line. Today Bachmeier said it was mutual, he thinks the o-line is wacky and neither side would have it any other way.

Asked about some of the big hits he;s taken Bachmeier said he has does what he has too to win but admitted he's been talked too about sliding.

Quietly Bachmeier has posted a 7-0 record as a true freshman starter but none of that matters so long as Hank can suit up every game and go out there and have fun.

If today's media session was any indication, Hank Bachmeier is having a blast.
