Heading into week four of the Idaho high school football season and already undefeated teams are scarce.

Only three teams in the top two divisions of Idaho prep football have unblemished 3-0 records, Eagle and Rocky Mountain in 5A and Kuna in 4A.

Eagle is scoring 42 points per game led by quarterback Ben Ford who is number one in rushing with 389 yards and eight touchdowns. The Mustangs will play at Skyview Friday. The Hawks are giving up nearly 30 points per game and that bodes well for Eagle improving to 4-0.

Rocky Mountain will host Capital and while the Eagles are capable of knocking off the number one ranked Grizzlies, Rocky Mountain is playing at home for the first time this year and that should be more than enough incentive to go 4-0.

The Kuna Caveman meantime are also home and will host Columbia and baring a let down, Kuna will also stay unbeaten.

Here are some statistical tidbits:

Eagle and Rocky Mountain are the only two 5A teams in the state averaging more than 40 points per game at 42 and 40 respectively.

By contrast, six 4A teams are scoring 40 points or better a game led by Kuna's 44.3.

Eagle's Ben Ford already has 11 touchdowns in three games. Eight by rushing and he's tossed three TD passes.

The Boise Brave haven't won a game this year but they lead the 5A statistics in turnover margin with a +4. Boise has turned the ball over 6 times but have 10 take a ways!

One other note: Because of the Boise State-Air Force game Friday night the Meridian vs. Borah game at Dona Larsen Park will be played Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
