On to Next Level For Girls High School Basketball
The Idaho girls high school basketball regular season is in the rear view mirror and now is the time of sudden endings starting tonight with District III play-in games.
Mountain View and Timberline are the District favorites. Both finished the regular season 16-2 in SIC but because Mountain View beat Timberline in both their regular season games, the Lady Mavericks are the top seed in district play.
Meanwhile, tonight the season will end for two teams. Centennial plays at Skyview and Capital is at Borah in District play-in games with the losers out.
The winners won't have it much better. The Centennial-Skyview winner has to play no.1 seed Mountain View on Thursday. The Capital-Borah winner gets to face no.2 seed Timberline.
Also Thursday 4-Boise plays 5-Rocky Mountain and 3-Meridian plays 6-Eagle.
On Saturday District play continues with the Thursday losers matching up at Boise High where two more seasons will end. The Thursday winners play Saturday at Borah where the two victors will qualify for the state tournament and for the District III SIC Championship game February 14th at Borah.
