The Pink Lady Classic this Friday and Saturday at Meridian Speedway is named after a vintage winged sprint car named "The Pink Lady".

Built and driven back in the 80's and 90's by long time local racing legend Ken Hamilton, the Pink Lady is a classic among racing machines more than worthy of having a two night racing event in her honor. The Pink Lady will be on display!

The modern version of the winged sprint cars, some 40 strong will circle the quarter mile oval at Meridian Speedway this weekend at speeds of up to 100 mph. The methanol burning racers are capable of covering the distance in just about 10 seconds!

The top winged sprint car racers from the Northwest will converge on Meridian for this two day event. There will also be several other classifications of cars racing plus boat races and fireworks after the Saturday show.

For more be sure and listen to the Meridian Speedway Hotlaps report on sports radio 630 The Fan on Thursdays at 3:15pm and 5:15pm.
