University of Idaho Athletic Director Rob Spear has learned he will have to spend more time on administrative leave.

The University says Spear's leave will extend until the external review of how the athletic department handled past allegations of sexual assault is complete.

On April 3rd Spear was placed on 60 day paid administrative leave. The move was made just one day before the ASUI student senate voted 10-5 to ask for Spear's resignation.

While on leave the State Board of Education announced it would not renew the contract of Idaho President Chuck Staben when it expires next spring. The move was in response to a letter signed by 14 Idaho boosters asking for Staben to be removed from office. His handling of the Spear situation was among the complaints.

Spear has had no comments as he is banned from commenting on University business.
