For the first time since mid December 2019, there are new media high school basketball polls and Timberline is no.1 in the 5A girls standings while Rocky Mountain rules the 5A roost.

The top four teams in the girls 5A standings are all from the Treasure Valley with Timberline at 13-1 just ahead of 10-2 Mountain View. The Lady Mavericks took over second place after beating no.3 Boise earlier this week. The Brave are 10-3.

Meridian, Lake City and Coeur d'Alene complete the ladies top five.

Rocky Mountain rolled into the Lions Den of Borah December 27th and in a game heard on 105.5 TheFan, outlasted the then top ranked Borah Lions to lay claim to the number one spot in 5A. It took until the first polls of 2020 for the Grizzlies to officially take over the at number one but at 9-1 they are the leaders in the latest media poll.

8-1 Borah is 2nd followed by Post Falls, Rigby and Meridian. The Warriors are 9-1 and we'll get to see them Friday at Boise in the McDonald's game of the week on 105.5fm The Fan, 7:30pm tip-off.
