Timberlines Caleb Stamper: Idaho Track & Field Gatorade Player of The Year

The 5-foot-9, 150-pound junior broke the tape in the 800-meter run and was a member of the winning 4x800-meter relay quartet at the Idaho Class 5A Track & Field Championship this past season, leading the Wolves to a fifth-place finish as a team. Stamper’s 800 clocking of 1:52.60 was state’s best this spring and ranked No. 58 nationally among prep competitors in 2018 at the time of his selection. At the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays in April, Stamper posted the state’s best times of the season in the 1500 (3:59.43, No. 35 nationally) and mile (4:15.96, No. 75 nationally).
A National Honor Society member, Stamper has volunteered locally serving the elderly and under-privileged by landscaping, painting and serving food to the homeless. He has also donated his time as a camp counselor for Isaiah’s Ranch, a United Way affiliate that serves a small mountain community. "Caleb is a true student-athlete who puts his heart and soul into being the best he can be in every avenue he pursues through lots of hard work, grit and tenacity," said Timberline head coach Ty Axtman.
Stamper has maintained a weighted 3.75 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
