Mountain View, Skyview and Fruitland are all 6-0 heading into week 7 of the high school football season and all three are #1 in their respective divisions.

Mountain View tops the 5A standings as continue to get the benefit of being the defending 5A state champions. I say that because there is some who feel 6-0 Post Falls could well be the top team in the state but obviously time will tell.

Ironically, in the current media poll Post Falls isn't even #2, they're third behind the Coeur d'Alene Vikings who have a 4-2 record.

Also surprising is the fact 4-2 Rocky Mountain is 4th and 5-1 Eagle, whose only loss was to Mountain View is 5th. That too will be solved when Eagle plays at Rocky on October 13th.

In 4A Skyview has ruled the roost since day one. The Hawks are 6-0 but I'm sure the elephant in the room is 2nd ranked Bishop Kelly sitting #2 also 6-0. Those two collide October 13th at Skyview. The Hawks have Mountain Home this week and BK has 3rd ranked Middleton but the Knights will be at home.

Emmett, which has lost in back to back Fridays to #1 Skyview and #2 Bishop Kelly is 5th at 3-3.

In 3A The Fruitland Grizzlies are the dominate team and at 6-0 received all the first place votes from the media.

Just a reminder, 630 The Fan's Taco Bell Game of the Week Friday will feature Meridian at Mountain View. The Warriors are 3-3 but have won two straight and will be looking to pull the biggest upset of the season.

Last week Borah beat Rocky Mountain 7-6 in our Taco Bell game of the week, could we have two major upsets in a row? Tune in a 7 p.m. on 630 The Fan.
