You might think me crazy if I said there is a chance for an all SIC 5A semi final in the Idaho high school football playoffs but I'll take that chance.

Tomorrow night No.1 Rocky Mountain joins the playoff competition following a first round bye by hosting Timberline. The Grizzlies are a huge favorite but for my purpose of predicting an all SIC semi final it's doesn't matter which team wins.

So on I go to Eagle at Rigby. The 7-1 Trojans had a first round bye as Eagle beat Capital 52-32 continuing to improve to a point I think the Mustangs can beat anyone and I think they'll beat Rigby which would mean an Eagle-Rocky Mountain semi final game.

Meanwhile, Highland will be at Borah tomorrow night in the McDonald's game of the week on The Fan, 105.5 fm and 630 am. If Borah can stop, or at least slow down the Highland running game, 239 yards a game rushing the Lions have a chance.

As always, Borah's Austin Bolt will be the key. No one has been able to shutdown the Bolt energy but I'm sure that is the Ram plan. Still, I give Borah a slight edge mainly because it just seems to be Borah's year.

Last but not least is Mountain View at Coeur d'Alene. This is never an easy game for the traveling team. Coeur d'Alene and Boise are in the same state but it's doesn't seem like it after traveling 8-hours through Oregon and Washington.

Still, if there is a team capable of making the trip and winning, it's the Mavericks. The two have one common opponent and that is Lake City. Coeur d'Alene won 45-0 and Mountain View won 58-0 (with a second half running clock)

To me it just means the two teams are evenly matched in what could be the best game in the 5A quarter finals.

Just for giggles, if Mountain View wins you'd have the Mavericks vs. Borah in the semi finals, if the Lions can tame the Rams.

So yes, there is a chance for an all 5A football semi final, how cool would that be?
